Socca Canada at the 2025 Socca World Cup in Cancún, Mexico

The 2025 TUI Socca World Cup took place in Cancún, Mexico from November 29th to December 7th 2025, bringing together 32 nations from around the world for the sport's biggest stage. Socca Canada was proud to be among them, making their second consecutive World Cup appearance and continuing to grow on the international scene.

Canada was drawn into Group C alongside Bulgaria, Oman and Haiti — a competitive group that would test our squad from the very first whistle.

Canada opened the group stage on December 1st with a dominant 10–1 victory over Haiti, in what was an outstanding team performance. Goals came from across the squad, with Tesfaye netting a hat-trick, Živković also bagging three, and Ouaamar, Balbinotti, and Foley all getting on the scoresheet. It was an emphatic statement of intent.

On December 2nd, Canada faced a tough Oman side and were defeated 4–2. Despite goals from Assaf, the squad couldn't hold on against a strong Oman outfit that had beaten Bulgaria earlier in the tournament.

In our final group stage match on December 4th, Canada faced group leaders Bulgaria and were defeated 4–1, with Ouaamar pulling one back for Canada. The result meant Canada finished 3rd in Group C with 3 points and a positive goal difference of +4 — just behind Oman (6pts) and group winners Bulgaria (9pts) — and did not advance to the knockout stage.

While the group stage exit is disappointing, Canada's development on the world stage continues. Scoring 13 goals across three matches and competing in a 32-nation World Cup for the second year in a row is a testament to the growth of the program. Poland were crowned 2025 TUI Socca World Champions, defeating hosts Mexico 3-1 in the final.

We are proud of every player who represented Canada in Cancún, and we look forward to what's next for Socca Canada on the international stage!
